OBEDIENCE:

The secrete to enduring is trust and obedience. Trust God to give you patience to endure even the small trials you face daily; obey him even when obedience is unattractive or dangerous.

The world needs Christians who will stand for God’s truth and point people towards right living.

As we enter into the month of July my heart remains in constant check over this word obedience. To live in obedience to the one who loves me so much should not be a chore but a desire.

Lately I’ve been asking myself, how much do I really love the Lord? If I love him as I say I do why am I not willing to surrender everything unto him, why are there still certain things in my past I won’t let go of, why at times do I have a fear of the future and I can not trust him in the now?

Over and over again I can read the scriptures that show me that peace will come if I live in obedience to him and his perfect plan for my life. Yes with obedience comes sacrifice, sacrifice of self also comes peace and a greater eternal reward.

At times I have a tendency to dwell too much on the things of this world and can be taken up with all that this life involves. But the greater reward will come with complete surrender to him and to push on with a desire to focus on eternal and not temporal satisfaction that this current life may offer and to let go of the things that would hinder my growth in him. At times that definitely requires sacrificed obedience. No matter what we think, God knows what is best for us, he knows what are needs really are and he has already made the provision for us.

God is in control and his promises are reliable. Jesus never says that by being faithful to him we will avoid troubles, suffering and persecution. Rather we must be faithful in our sufferings. Only then will our faith prove itself genuine. We remain faithful by keeping our eyes on Christ and what he promises us now and in the future. Rev. 2:10, Philippians 3:13,14..
